AWS Organizations Accounts Separation
Best practice dictates isolating workloads using separate AWS accounts managed via AWS Organizations. Maintain a dedicated **Security Account** for collecting central CloudTrail logs, running security analysis tools like GuardDuty, and managing security assessments.
IAM Identity Center & Least Privilege
Never run long-lived IAM user keys in production. Instead, configure AWS IAM Identity Center linked to your corporate Active Directory (e.g. Entra ID). Implement Permission Sets with explicit constraints and session limits to enforce a least-privilege approach.
Data Encryption & KMS Policies
All data at rest inside AWS S3, EBS, and RDS databases must be encrypted using customer-managed keys (CMKs) in AWS Key Management Service (KMS). Verify that your key policies restrict access specifically to designated application execution roles.
